Victorian Travelling Kitchen

We have been learning about the lives of rich and poor people in Victorian times. The guys at 'The Victorian Travelling Kitchen' came into school and spent 2 days cooking up a feast with the children. Everybody in Eagles got to cook with our expert chefs.
I wonder if you can spot which food rich people would eat? How about poor people?
Look at the video to see what we did.

Welcome to Eagles 2014-2015

So it's been a busy start to the year in Eagles but finally the blog is up and running!
We have been reading a book called 'The Green Ship" by Quentin Blake and its given us loads of ideas for our writing.

We started by making some green ships and describing the different parts using adjectives. Look what we did.

Plants Life cycles

We have been thinking about pollination and how insects pollinate flowering plants. But Mrs Curme said that not all flowering plants are pollinated by insects. Mr Gibson loves bees and says they are the only way he knows of flowers being pollinated. Who is right? Perhaps this video could give us some clues.
So what do you think of Mrs Curmes ideas now? Do you agree or disagree. Post your ideas.

The Easter Story

We have been thinking about the Easter story and what it means to us and to Christians.
Why not watch it again.

Then we thought about the last supper and tied to answer these questions.

What can you see?  What emotions are present?

We came up with lots of adjectives to describe these emotions.

'If you look closely you can see bread and wine... this represents the body and blood of Jesus' Tyrees
'I think Jesus is in the middle because he is the boss' Brandon
'The people at the edge of the table are arguing... perhaps one of them is cross with Judas' Wyatt
'Jesus looks calm and contented' Brandon
'I think he looks downhearted' Mackenzie
'Some of the men look frustrated' Bleran

Finally we looked and discussed these questions in our groups.

'I wouldn't allow Judas to be there' Ryleigh
'I think Jesus let Judas stay because he was going to die anyway nd he was an understanding person' Tacie Ann
'If Jesus just left suddenly all his friends would be confused and worried' Ryleigh
'If I was Judas I wouldn't stay... I would be so ashamed'    Bleran
'I would have told Jesus my secret' Amrit
'I wouldn't go to the last supper ....if I was Jesus I would hide away'  Jack
